1. Is Better Homes a franchise company?
No Better Homes is a family owned company that has been building in the Hastings area for close to 30 years.
2. Where does Better Homes Build?
Better Homes focuses on home construction in the Hastings which includes Port Macquarie and areas south to Laurieton, north to Telegraph Point and west to Wauchope.
3. Will Better Homes build my plan?
We have a large range of plans for clients to consider but are totally flexible and we will happily work with clients to ensure we meet their individual design and inclusions.
4. Will Better Homes build on my land?
Although we specialize in homeland packages a lot of our work is contract building on clients own land. We often refer to these contracts as “Own land packages”.
5. What is standard and what is an extra?
Our display homes are presented with the finish and inclusions as standard and as such are all within the prime cost allowances. Clients certainly have the ability to upgrade or downgrade from this standard inclusion level.
6. Where does Better Homes have packages available?
Although Brierley Hill is our primary homeland package estate in Port Macquarie we do have access to a number of other developments in Port Macquarie and Hastings area.
7. How does a homeland package work?
To make things easy we have prepared a summary of the package process which can be viewed whilst on your visit to our display home however the process consists of a land purchase contract and a building contract. These two contracts are completed at the same time.
The land contract is separate to the building contract which saves many thousands of dollars.
8. How do we pay for the house construction?
Once you pay and settle for the land purchase and we start construction, progress payments are structured at various stages during the construction period.
This is covered in the Housing Industry Association building contract we use and is accepted by all lending institutions.
9. How flexible is Better Homes with their packages?
We remain totally flexible and encourage clients to consider all their design and inclusion requirements during the planning process of their new home.
10. What’s not included in the packages?
We stand by our statement of “Everything’s included” however we do acknowledge that situations vary and there may be certain items to be excluded at the request of the client.
The summary of inclusions, are extensive however a detailed quotation covering all aspects of construction including prime cost allowances will be provided to our client during the design and quoting process.
11. Does Better Homes build to lock up stage?
For warranty issues as well as our commitment not to compromise the quality of the end product we will not build a home to lock up only.
We do however invite clients to discuss their situation as we understand that clients may wish to use certain contractors on their new home. This would be considered as long as the trades in question were licensed, insured and can work within our building schedule.
